Discrete is a technical field-services contractor based in central Pennsylvania. We build, operate, and maintain the infrastructure that moves audio, video, and data from where it originates to where people finally use it.

On any given week our crews are climbing a communications tower, tuning a transmitter, placing conduit and fiber, terminating a network closet, commissioning a sanctuary sound system, or running audio and lighting for a live show. The environment changes; the underlying work doesn’t. Understand how the system needs to function, build it correctly, verify it performs as intended, and be able to support it when something goes wrong.

We don’t only design and build systems for other people — we operate networks and infrastructure ourselves, day to day. That gives us the perspective of both contractor and operator, and it sets a different bar for what “finished” means. A project isn’t successful because it worked on installation day. It has to stay reliable, serviceable, understandable, and practical for the people responsible for running it long after we’ve packed up.

Working across trades rather than within one is what makes that possible. We understand how RF, fiber, IP networking, audio, video, power, and physical structure interact, so we can look past the individual component to the system as a whole. Behind it is 25 years of broadcast engineering, 35 years in live sound and lighting production, and years of tower and underground construction — the same background that lets us design a system, build it, and then keep it running.

For our customers, that means one technical partner who can take responsibility for more of the project: the tower and the trench, the equipment rack, the network, and the room at the end of it.
